There are some wedding days that just feel wonderfully easy from the moment you arrive. No rushing, no unnecessary stress, just two people surrounded by the people they love, enjoying every part of their day.

Rebekah and Bailey’s September wedding at Hanbury Barns was exactly that!

They booked my Complete Collection, giving me the opportunity to be there from the quiet morning preparations right through to the evening celebrations - and I’m so glad I got to tell the whole story of their day.

It was a last-minute September booking, but you would never have guessed it. Everything felt completely natural, relaxed and meant to be.

Kind words from Rebekah & Bailey

"Pippa shot our wedding in September and we couldn’t be happier with our photos! She captured the day so beautifully and made us feel completely relaxed from start to finish.

From the getting ready shots to the couple portraits, group photos, and all the lovely candid moments in between, we’re so glad to have these to look back on and relive the day.

We’re so grateful for the memories she’s given us and couldn’t recommend her enough! 🤍"

A chilled morning on both sides

I always love the getting-ready part of a wedding day!

There’s something really special about those quieter hours before the ceremony, when everything is starting to happen but the day hasn’t quite kicked into full swing yet.

Both Rebekah and Bailey had really chilled mornings, surrounded by their closest friends and family.

For me, these moments are a huge part of the story.

The details are lovely, of course, but it’s the atmosphere that I really want to capture. The people, the nerves, the laughter, the anticipation and all those little interactions happening naturally in the background.

And that relaxed feeling continued throughout the entire day.

A beautiful ceremony at Hanbury Barns

Then came the ceremony!

Hanbury Barns is such a beautiful setting for a wedding ceremony, with its rustic character and natural light creating a lovely atmosphere. The venue has been designed around the flow of a wedding day, with its different spaces and countryside surroundings giving you plenty of opportunities for photographs without everything feeling overly staged.

Rebekah and Bailey’s ceremony was beautiful!

There were the emotional moments, the smiles, the laughter and all the little looks between them that said more than words could.

And once they were officially married, it was time to relax properly and enjoy the celebrations.

Natural wedding photography around the grounds

One of my favourite things about photographing a wedding at Hanbury Barns is the variety of places to explore.

After the ceremony, we spent some time taking photographs around the grounds, keeping everything relaxed and natural. I’m not a photographer who wants couples standing in one spot for hours posing for photographs!

Instead, I like to give you gentle direction when you need it, then let you enjoy being together.

That way, the photographs feel like you!

We wandered around the grounds, capturing portraits as we went, while also making sure Rebekah and Bailey could get back to their guests and enjoy the day.

The countryside setting around Hanbury Barns works beautifully for this kind of photography, giving us lots of natural backdrops and opportunities for photographs that feel romantic without being overly posed.

And then came the sunset!

Later in the evening, I was keeping one eye on the light, as I always do. September sunsets can be absolutely gorgeous, but they disappear fast!

And as I watched the sun dropping, I realised we had a very small window of opportunity.

So, just after the speeches, I made a quick decision.

“Come on! We need to go!”

Okay, maybe not quite those words... but it was definitely time to move!

I whisked them outside because I could see this incredible sunset developing, and I knew we had minutes rather than half an hour. This is one of the reasons I love having the freedom to photograph throughout the whole day.

The sky was gorgeous, the evening light was soft and golden, and the whole setting suddenly felt completely different.

We managed to capture some beautiful evening portraits just as the sun was disappearing!

A relaxed September wedding at Hanbury Barns

Looking back at Rebekah and Bailey’s wedding, what stands out most is just how relaxed the whole day felt.

From their chilled mornings, through their beautiful ceremony and time with their guests, to those last-minute sunset portraits, nothing felt forced.

Not everything has to be perfectly planned. Sometimes the best photographs happen because we notice something beautiful, take a little detour, or run outside because the sun is disappearing over the horizon.

Rebekah and Bailey booked my Complete Collection, which meant I could be there to capture all of those parts of their wedding story. From the beginning of their mornings right through to the evening.

And what a story it was!
